When I bought this fabric a year or so ago I knew I wanted to use it for a fundraiser but was waiting for for something that felt right. Seeing it the other day in my studio I knew the time was now. My heart has been breaking for weeks watching the information coming out of Gaza. The hopelessness can be overwhelming. The image from this fabric print of the white dove with a heart, flying over green hills made me think of the centuries old olive groves and farmland in Palestine that are being bulldozed while bombs drop on children and families are shot while trying to get food at aid stations.
We will be making these slings as long as the bolt of fabric lasts. All profits will be donated to either Doctors Without Borders or the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees. If you have a preference for either agency, please make a note in your order. Purchasing through our home site — ecomum.com — rather than Etsy will allow us to donate more but all orders are appreciated. Also, we would urge you to support these agencies as you are able.

We began making these midwifery weigh slings at the request of a local midwives group, and for over two decades have been making them for Canadian medical supplies companies.
This weigh sling is extra special, made with care, attention, and affection in our smoke-free home from 100% quality quilting cotton.
Slings measure approximately 40″ in length and 29″ width with sturdy metal D rings in a chrome finish for hooking to your scale, sewn in at the ends with double hems. All side hems are nicely rolled & stitched. The fabric is very light hued on the interior, so staining is possible.
Each order ships in a reusable cloth sleeve made by ecomum!
