Midwifery Weigh Sling — shibori batik cotton

We only have a short yardage of this fabric — so snap it up if you like it! Originally made at the request of the local midwives’ office, our midwifery weigh slings are now distributed across the province by Pure Midwifery and the Stevens Company (medical suppliers).

These slings are made from a soft light batik, dyed in  shibori batik style in grey and indigo.  Due to the process of creating batik fabrics, there may be some small dots of wax or resist residue left on the fabric — this will disappear during the first wash, and does not in any way compromise the integrity of the sling.

These slings are 38″ long, and 29″ wide, with 2 sturdy metal D-rings at either end.    Please note that weigh scales are NOT included with the slings, and unfortunately we don’t carry them (please consult the two companies above if you need one).   Also, they are intended for weighing babies, not carrying them.

These make an excellent gift for the midwife, or midwifery student in your life — or get one for your own child’s birth to have as a memento     .
